Books to grow by.

From seed to oak — stories that open doors, at any age.

the name

Akarn — Old Norse for acorn.

Akarn is an independent publishing house, born in Brussels, with a Nordic soul: clear, luminous, devoted to the stories that help us grow. The name is the old word for the seed of the oak — small in the hand, an entire forest in waiting.

We publish books to open doors. Some hand grown-ups the keys no one ever gave them; others carry children into an enchanted northern forest. Different readers, one craft: to plant a story, and watch it grow in whoever reads it.
